Rebirth is an initiative founded to help children in a borstal home. A borstal home is a place where children who commit minor crimes are sent for correction and to ensure they integrate properly into society.
This initiative aligns with SDG 4: Quality Education. As part of our plan to help them integrate into society, this year we purchased JAMB forms for some of the children so they can aspire to become more than they are now. In addition, our foundation trained them on values and character. So far, we have held two editions of this program—one in Lagos and the other in Abeokuta.

The International Children's Day Conference is an event for children that aims to empower them to thrive and live a values-based life. Hosted annually, the conference concluded its third edition this May, with events held at two centers—one on the Mainland and the other on the Island—in collaboration with Alliance Française, the French cultural center located on the Island.
This year, through the power of stage plays and creative thinking, we impacted the lives of over 500 children and more than 30 schools from both the public and private sectors. Since its inception, the conference has reached over 1,000 children and more than 90 schools, with each annual event reaching more children and schools than the previous year.

Here's an analysis of the effects:
1. Educational Empowerment: By sponsoring the educational endeavors of deserving children in disadvantaged communities, the foundation is directly contributing to breaking the cycle of poverty.
2.Identification and Support of Potential**: The competition aims to identify and support the exceptional potential present in the minds of children facing economic hardships.
3.Breaking Down Barriers**: The financial assistance offered through the competition helps in breaking down economic barriers that often hinder the educational progress of underprivileged children.
4. Catalysts for Change: Participants in the competition become catalysts for change, contributing to a cause that transcends socio-economic disparities.
5. Community Development: By focusing on children in disadvantaged communities, the "Slum Brains" competition indirectly contributes to the overall development of these communities.
6.Promoting a Better Tomorrow: The overarching goal of the initiative is to create pathways to a better tomorrow. In conclusion, the "Slum Brains" competition by the Uncle Sele Foundation has the potential to bring about positive and transformative changes in the lives of underprivileged children.
By championing education and providing support, this initiative not only empowers individual children but also contributes to the broader societal goal of creating a more inclusive and equitable future.
